Behavioral Scientist – Diabetes Prevention & Management

- Key Qualifications:
- PhD in behavioral science, neuroscience, psychology, behavioral economics, or related field, with specific experience in diabetes prevention/management (CDCES), or lifestyle interventions.
- Strong track record in translating behavioral theory into product features with measurable health outcomes.
- Experience in designing protocols for user/clinical studies, including IRB submissions and statistical planning.
- Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited by fast-moving, mission-driven startup culture.
- Prior startup experience is a huge plus.

- Responsibilities:
- Lead the behavioral science strategy for our product: formulate how the user journey, interventions, nudges, and feedback loops can be optimized to improve user’s decision making ability, elicit motivation, and lower the burden of healthful eating ultimately reducing their risk for type 2 diabetes.
- Collaborate with our clinical/medical/engineering/business teams to translate behavioral science insights into concrete product features.
- Design and oversee multiple pilot studies.
- Write or significantly contribute to the research protocol and guide the Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission and approval process.
- Be open and adaptable: as a startup you may wear multiple hats, including generating hypotheses, analyzing pilot data, and iterating design based on behavioral findings.

- You are an independent, outside-the-box-thinking engineer or researcher with expertise in all of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, GPTs, LLM APIs, RAG, prompting techniques, AI agentic workflows, evals, guardrails, computer use, post-training of LLMs, computer vision, and time series modalities.
- You are an expert in full-stack software development. Hands-on development.
- You are an expert in mobile app design, development, and deployment.
- In addition, you have prior mobile or web game design, development, and deployment experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience.

AI Engineer

- You are an independent, outside-the-box-thinking AI/ML engineer highly skilled in the following areas: deep learning, sequence models, GPTs, OpenAI API, at least one other LLM API, RAG, prompting techniques, AI agentic workflows, evals, guardrails, computer use, post-training of LLMs.
- You are willing to take ownership of inference, deployment, and scaling.
- 5+ years of industry experience with 2 years of experience in agentic orchestration frameworks.
- You must have prior experience in developing mobile apps.
- Prior startup experience is a huge plus.

- Responsibilities:
- Implement LLM based recommendations for specific tasks utilizing programming languages such as Python, React Native, Java, Javascript, JSON, SQL, R, and C++, Swift, Objective-C.
- Evaluate model performance based on metrics such as repeatability, reliability, safety, coherence, latency, etc. and find innovative ways to improve them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions on cloud platforms.
